چکیده
Processing magnetocaloric materials into magnetic refrigerant particles is an essential issue in developing high-performance refrigerators. Here, we succeed stably producing of the promising material HoAl2 by a newly devised method based on electrode induction melting gas atomization process. The particle size range order submillimeter, which suitable for practical refrigeration systems. resulting with less contamination have good morphological, magnetic, and properties: (i) almost spherical shapes few internal pores, (ii) sharp ferromagnetic transition around 30 K, (iii) large effect comparable to bulk counterpart. These features suggest HoAl$_{2}$ gas-atomized potential use as refrigerant. presented can be applied not only but also other brittle high points, facilitating production various refrigerants needed develop refrigerators hydrogen liquefaction.

Structure of nanometersized silicon particles prepared by various gas phase processes
We have explored various gas phase processes for the fabrication of nanometersized Si and SiOx particles and measured their structural properties (agglomeration, size, shape, crystallinity, surface roughness and internal structure) by conventional and high resolution electron microscopy. Agglomerated amorphous Si particles, 10±30 nm in size, were prepared by gas phase reactions including cluste...

A systematic set of annealings on arc-melted synthesized Gd5Si2Ge2 sample was performed. Through powder x-ray di raction (XRD) and magnetometry measurements we monitored the effect of varying the annealing time with constant temperature (T = 1473K) on the formation of the Monoclinic (M ) crystallographic phase fraction, which is the one responsible for the Giant Magnetocaloric E ect (GMCE) in t...

After preliminary investigations o f the B a -N a N system, resulting in the discovery of the first sub-nitride NaBa3N [1], we decided to examine more closely the intermetallic phases formed by the two metals, leading to the discovery of the new Laves phase N a2Ba. The literature contains a variety o f conflicting reports concerning N a -B a intermetallic phases. The standard references for bin...
متن کاملElectronic Structure and Magnetovolume Instabilities of the Hexagonal Laves Phase Compound Fe2Ti
We investigate the electronic and cohesive properties of the hexagonal and cubic Laves phases of Fe2Ti by ab initio band structure calculations. In particular the stability range of these compounds is studied. In the volume range considered, the state of lowest energy is hexagonal (C14) and exhibits antiferromagnetic order. However, we find a slightly higher in energy lying ferromagnetic state ...
متن کاملAtomization Uniformity in Gas -
There are two important aspects to good injector performance in rocket engines—the atomization performance (droplet size and distribution, for example) and uniformity of operation (even distribution of droplets in time and space). In general, both of these aspects are affected by the geometry and operating conditions of the injector. In studying atomization performance, prior work has largely f...
